Aipan is a ritualistic folk art that originated in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. The artwork is unique since it is created on empty, brick-red walls known as Geru. A white paste composed of rice flour is used to create the actual artwork. The walls and floors of Puja rooms and front doorways of homes frequently feature artwork. Additionally, it is predominantly done by Kumaoni women. It is important for social, cultural, and religious reasons.
